This Privacy Policy describes how Quit Smoking Diary (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our mobile application. The App helps you log smoking habits, track spending and health-related statistics, keep a quit diary, and use tools to manage cravings. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.
Summary: Quit Smoking Diary is an offline-first app. Your smoking records, diary, settings, and achievements are stored only on your device. We do not require an account and do not upload your diary content to our servers.
1. Information We Process
1.1 Data you provide (stored on your device)
The App stores the following on your device using local storage. We do not upload this content to our servers unless you explicitly export it yourself (e.g., copy or share a backup file):
Smoking records: time, brand, quantity, optional notes, mood, and place category you select (e.g., home, office — not GPS coordinates).
Brand library: cigarette brand names, prices, pack size, tar and CO values you configure or use from presets.
Profile & goals: optional gender, year you started smoking, daily limit, quit/control mode, quit start time, reduction plan settings.
Import/export: If you use backup or restore, data is read from or written to files or clipboard under your control.
1.2 Data we do not collect
We do not require registration, email, phone number, or real-name identity.
We do not access precise geolocation (GPS). “Location” in the App means tags you choose when logging a cigarette.
We do not sell your personal information.
Built-in uni-app statistics are disabled in this App.
2. How We Use Your Information
Display statistics, charts, health milestones, and achievements inside the App.
Calculate estimates such as spending, tar intake, and quit duration.
Remember your settings and language choice.
Provide craving tools (timer, breathing exercise, distraction game) and optional vibration feedback.
Let you export, import, or clear data from the “Mine” / settings area.
3. Local Storage & Retention
Data is kept in your device’s app storage until you delete it using the in-app “clear data” function, uninstall the App, or restore from a backup you created. Uninstalling the App typically removes local data from that device.
4. Network Use & Third Parties
The App works fully offline for recording, statistics, diary, and settings. We do not collect or transmit your personal smoking data over the network.
If you choose to open an optional health reference link (e.g., American Cancer Society, CDC, NHS, WHO) from a milestone description, the in-app browser will connect to that third-party website. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may collect data according to their terms.
5. Permissions (Android)
The App may request or declare:
Internet / network state: only when you voluntarily open external health reference links in the browser.
Vibrate: optional feedback in craving tools.
Camera: declared for possible platform features; the core App does not require photos for smoking logs.
You can revoke permissions in system settings; some features may stop working.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for adults who want to reduce or quit smoking. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Your Choices & Rights
Access & portability: Export your data from the App as JSON/text.
Deletion: Use “clear all data” in settings or uninstall the App.
Correction: Edit or delete individual records, diary entries, and brands in the App.
Language: Change display language in settings; this does not send your diary to us.
Depending on your country, you may have additional rights (access, erasure, objection). Contact us using the details below.
8. Security
Your data stays on your device. Security depends on your device settings (screen lock, encryption, backups). If you export a backup file, you are responsible for keeping that file safe. No method of storage is 100% secure.
9. International Users
The App is available in multiple languages. Core features do not require network access. Optional third-party links may be governed by laws in the country where those services operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. For material changes, we may notify you in the App or on the store listing where required.
